I just got one today for FREE from checker when i bought a new K&N air filter(Ru-2820) Have any of you ever used them? How long can i go on the oil filter? Thanks.

 

eh? how long? whatever oil-filter u use change it every time u change engine-oil
u want them go for at least 100000 miles? lol

K&N oil filters are very good filters and made by Champion Labs ( they also make Bosch and Supertech filters). One usually changes the oil filter when they change their oil, so you'd prob change the filter when you change the oil.

 

i used one before. i think that was the time i went 7k miles btw oil changes and it was fine. there was something i read on the back of the box that i didnt like though so i didnt use it again after that. i forgot what it was i read though.

 

so how long do you think. 10,000 max?

Just change the filter when you would normally change your oil. You could use reuse your filter, but since they're relatively cheap, most people just toss after one oil change.
