My moron friends blown up S2000...
I'm bored so I just thought I would post this funny story. I have a "friend" who is pretty spoiled. He has the worlds most riced out 94 Civic EX. Newayz, his mom helped him get an S2000 in the spring of their release. Black/Black interior, pretty good deal. He drives like an idiot, which was evidenced by our driving it at 140+ mph with the top down on the highway about 10 mins after he bought it from the guy at the airport. He then proceeded to blow it up about 2 months later by racing a TT Stealth that another friend of ours owns, and trying to downshift from 6th to 5th but hitting 3rd. NOT A VERY GOOD DEAL. He then had Honda fix it under warranty (took about a month). When he picked it back up they told him it was blown from abuse and not to bring it back to them if it had anymore abuse caused engine problems. NOT TO WORRY. As he REDLINES the car pulling out of the dealership, I figure this is going to turn out to be interesting in the longrun. A month hardly goes by and I get a call from a friend saying the S2000 was wrapped around a guardrail early this morning in the rain. He attempted to do 100+ mph around a corner apparantly. The good news is that the drivers side door escaped unscathed. The bad news is that the rest of the car didn't. ESTIMATES from the Honda dealer the next town over (ours wasn't qualified to do the bodywork) was about 20,000. His insurance wouldn't total it. Well, 3 months later, VOILA, he has a *new* S2000. Then, in the ultimate test of stupidity, he blows the motor about a week after he got it back by attempting to get from Columbia MO to Jefferson City MO *30ish miles* in record time. He "says" never less than 160mph the whole way. Well, that was about a year and some months ago. Honda won't fix it, he can't afford to, it now has a cut in the top above the drivers seat. It also sits in the grass behind his mom's house. The engine is apart lodged in the engine compartment. His mom pays the payment and insurance. He has since sold his Civic and has an 88 HF with a 1.8LS motorswap with a 65hp NX shot. He's 24. JOBLESS. Sorry this is so long, I just figured I would tell you about at least one S2000, that has went ENTIRELY to waste. BTW, it can be yours for the low price of 29,000
well yeah. Except he's taken like 10 of those "driver improvement courses" because of all his speeding tickets. It just irks me to see such a nice car go to waste.
I dunno about the stereo, but I can ask him. It's not like he values such things, as my story is evidence of. Yeah it's a waste about the car really.
stoplights? On US HWY 63? There isn't any really once you get past the I-70 overpass. You are right though, that highway is in terrible condition.

I own an S2000, and i love that car..I also love my first car I bought, a 1995 DX Civic coupe that I have had since it had 40 miles on the odometer, and i have cared for it and done lots of upgrades..but all this i have worked for..no one ever gave me a red cent for these cars or anything else..i have worked for it all. That is the problem with your friend, he has probably never worked for anything in his wasted life...he needs to learn the value of hard work.

and to make matters worse his parents (whom I get along with well) were in a terrible accident last year and are about to be awarded a 1 million dollar a piece settlement. I can only imagine how much worse this guy can get.
tell his parents he's a bad driver(behind his back of course) and suggest to them getting him an 88 VW Jetta and selling that s2k to a caring owner although i dont see who would want it now its been beat up pretty badly

Tell your friend to stick his reckless driving to GT3.....and have his mommy get him a Schwinn until he learns how to respect cars in general before getting him a manual mini cooper...
