Another Layer for us R owners. The Powerlock.
Hi everyone, with the 2 R being stolen recently, I decided to look into more ways to layer my securities. I did some searching and came across this http://www.powerlock.com This gadget was also on the news (fox news and abc news) Im just wondering if anyone has heard of this device before? You can download the commercial and the news coverage that was on Fox and ABC news. It's going for 230 to 260 with installation. Seems pretty cool, can anyone see a way around this device without towing? Im just about ready to fork over 420 bux for the wheel boot that you see in Cxshoe avatar. But, I think Imma get the powerlock first.
ok about that guarantee, cant you just swap out starters? i know a thief most likely isnt going to that extent, but the ad says no one can start guaranteed. talking about removing parts and bypassing parts.
but i beleive its a pretty solid deterant though. along with an alarm.
but that just too much weight for me

Was it? Sorry if it was posted already, I did a search on "Powerlock" and nothing came up. About the Ravelco device, does anyone have it installed? Can you give me pricing on it? Gotta make up my mind wether to go with the Powerlock or Ravelco.
Doh! This HAS been posted before, Numerous times! I didnt click "Archived Content" and left it on Recent content. No wonder nothing popped up. Well, no one is online 24/7. Atleast those that havent seen/heard of this product will get heads up

If that was true, I'd be buying cars from the dealership and parting them out, and apparently be making 2-4 times it's value (could YOU get 80,000 by parting out a Type R? Doubtful...

"hello, I'd like to order one ITR chassis, what's the restocking fee on that btw?"

They can still tow the car though
My mom's old Dodge Caravan had a system that you needed to have this key inserted otherwise the car would not start/run.

I just want something to secure the car to the point that the only way to move it is with a tow truck. Atleast you'll limit your chance of getting your caR stolen. Beside, a tow truck is big and loud, so It won't be to hard to not see/hear it loading up your car. A question about towing, does anyone know if a car can be towed when parked at your typical mall/grocerry store type parking lot? Being that every open slot is occupied by a vehicle, does anyone know if your car can still be loaded up onto a flat bed or tow truck with the limited amount of space they have?
Your answer for not getting it towed is EziTrak
thinking about getting one real soon
heres more info about it, its like a alarm made for god... only if they didn't have the cell phone Scram, but what are the chances?

call up Chuck Wigham Licensed installer for the tri state area if u in the east coast. He will refer other licesed dealer if u are in other parts of the state. I have mine installed for 350 (the flush mount option was $50 more 300+50) it's another layer to your oem device. Took him about 4 hours to put it in....(sometimes removing parts from engine to run the wires...such as intake manifold, air box) very very difficult to bypass and uses all black wires along with 6 more black dummy wires that ran the entire length and enclosed within a slightly bentable metal tube and trace right into the stock wiring system. The installation is soo nice....even the dealership senior technician have trouble tracing the wire. only way to get ur ride is to Tow it.....if someone wants ur car that bad...they'll take it. Other than that....good luck to the thief and hopefully the car is not parked in a spot where a car thief can take his time (around an hour to 2 hours...for pros and the installer himself) trying to figure things out to get ur car up and running. A friend of mine who does alarm installation for numerous year cannot believe that it was this difficult for him...lol ...said forget it after trying it out for 55 minutes. (went and got lunch with the money he lost to me..since he can't get it to start..and thats with me leaving the hood and door open for him...haha. of course ...always keep it on the Dl of wut protection u got on ur R. (don't bother putting up any sticker for their mrkting purpose) Read up more on http://www.neverstolen.com and call up Chuck he did a very nice job on mine and I've learned a lot from him in regards to vehicle security. Don't ever pay someone who wants u to cut ur key just so u can have remote start...taking away the factory immob. layer (Chuck is working on a class act law suit against shops like bestbuy and circuitcity..who installs alarm w/ remote start on customer vehicle that are equipped with coded key) add more and more...make it difficult for thief that wants ur ride.

are you kidding me? this is the strongest guarantee in the industry?
1. the most they will pay is $1,000 (but depends on your deductible most only have $500 as their deductible)
2. and they will only pay if there is evidence of a hot wire (meaning theives touch several wires together to start your car, not the normal breaking of your steering column and using a screw driver to start OUR cars, so we cant even use this gurantee)
good luck dude.. read the fine print.
I had the Powerlock system on my integra..and it was cool til the keys starting to take a dump on me. I ended being stuff at a store, not being able to start my car..and having this curse taken out. It was so inconsistent
