if you don't have another car, buy the hooks that hold the straps beforehand. they always need replacing every time you drop the tank.

I didn't have to replace mine.
I would suggest emptying the gas first. It's not real heavy even full and you can bring it down with a jack but it is awkward and will keep you from tipping it. I spilled about a gallon of gas on the ground was laying in it for about 20 min and was high for about 2 days...or so. You can also just plug up the holes I guess...but just do something.
Also, be prepared for the tubes to be hell-hard to get off...make sure you use plenty of rust penatrant.

Well this is taking longer than expected. I have it drained, off the 2 straps, exhaust shield is off, now I guess I will have to get to some of the things from inside of the car? Or can I do it all from under the car, just want to make sure If I don't have to get in the car and rip apart the interior I will save loads of time. the hatch a little harder to get to the tank from above then a crx.

Make sure you unplug the wiring from inside the car. You will have to get under the rear seats and remove a small panel to get to the plugs (as you may already know). It may also take some wiggling to get the tank to fully drop out. The hardest part will probably be trying to undo all the hoses and clamps, as was mentioned in an earlier post. Good luck

If I remember correctly, you need to pop the rear out first, then the fronts. The fronts have clips that hook into slots on the floor panel.

You have to reach in between where the seat backs and the seat bottoms meet. In that crease, you should be able to pull the seat bottom forward or backward, which ever loosens the seat. Sorry I can't be more descriptive....too bad I can't just be there to help you out.
