Default jrsc question for all you genius's...

I was just thinking, what is the difference between the JRSC for the Civic si and Type R? WIll they both fit on each car? And, anyone have a Supercharged Type R. I know this is dumb, just wandering... Thanks, Ryan

My 00 ITR use to be supercharged. I had a JRSC as well, I had it removed, because I missed the sound of Vtec, I hated the mpg I got from it. I admit my car is slower now, but I love the way it runs now, with less problems.

BTW: The JRSC is just sitting around in my room, collecting dust. Let me know if anyone is intrested. I already got a couple of offers, but they were not to my likings.

How did you mpg suffer? Under normal driving my friends JRSC GSR actually gets better mpg

WTF.. how did that happen? When my car is NA I get around 230-240 miles per full tank. With the JRSC on there I only got around 200-220, and that's when I'm not beating on the car. If I do beat on it I will only get around 180.

There is no difference in the actual blower for the Si and the Type R. Mounting hardware may differ a little but not much because the Si and the R motor are the same dimensionally in the area that has to do with the blower.

Oh, my 98 ITR was supercharged for about a year and a half. Lots of fun.

Hey scooter, did you just want to take the blower off or did you mess your engine up? Ryan

how does supercharging compare to turbocharging performance wise? i already know how they both operate mechanically. i also heard that supercharge gives more low end and turbocharge give better top end. true?

I too had the JRSC on my R for about 1 year. It runs very good and my mpg was about the same like stock. Forget only to buy the blower kit and gain 50whp. You also need i/h/e, fuel management system, etc., There are lots of tuning troubles with the R everybody had who had gone the JRSC way. You will need to spend much hours on the dyno and testing some stuff.

My engine blowed after the 8psi upgrade. I have 11.1:1 cr. Now building the bottom end to 9:1 cr and turboing the bitch

My 0.2: Go standalone when F/I and ditch the piggybacks. You will have less troubles.
