also a friend of mine has a wrx with 24 psi dynoing at 218 whp. and that is after full tuning

That sounds off. My friends 240sx (SR20det) runs 240 low boost (12psi ?) and 302 high boost (22 psi). Then again the engines are made differently but nonetheless that sounds like a deal to me as long as the engine isnt shot or about to take a dive.
