Default Head gasket cause pinging???

Can a head gasket going bad cause pinging???? The motor isn't misfiring or anything yet, but I'm just curious is my slight pinging problem could be caused by a head gasket. . I know it's leaking coolant OUTSIDE the motor, but not sure if it's dropping compression or anything. . what do you think?

a metalic "type" sound that happens between a certain rpm. . . it's happening between about 2-4k rpm when the car is cold. . .when it warms up, it goes away. . .but when the car is cold, there is a slight pinging sound. . .

cam timing isn't adjusted. . I'm still on the factory gears. .. the timing wasn't advanced at all. .. . and the headgasket is the factory headgasket. . . All i can think of is maybe air/fuel. . .so I'm going to get a fuel pressure regulator/rail/pressure gauge this week and check everythign out. . .

oh, have you cheacked the crank and seen if its aligned right?
it should be a/f or have you messed with your ecu or f/p?

or it could be your running hotter that you should, also check you plugs wires and cap&rotor goodluck

Well, I haven't driven the car in about a week. . I'm gonna be changing everything next week. . (Head Gasket, Intake Manifold Gasket, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Fuel Rail, Fuel Pressure Gauge, Cam Gears, Cam Seals, Valve Cover Gasket, Cap/Rotor, Plugs, and i'll probably change my wires). . . Then i'm goign to get it dyno tuned. . we'll see what happens from there. . . I have a VAFC so they can do more tuning from that. . hopefully it will solve the problem. .
