Default is b20/v-tec reliable

i have a 95 gs-r supercharged,a person wants to trade me a 97 gs-r and it has a b20/v-tec,ive always heard bad things about them,but i want to go all motor,because i never have,are they reliable? it will be a daily driver

A motor is as reliable as the build/tune...Remember that....Some people have them pop after 5k,others never have problems..Ive seen some with all OEM parts make 190+whp,and go 30k+ with NO issues whatsoever.Build it right the first time,or build it again.Lsvtec/B20vtec's are GREAT motors with hugh midrange and great potenital,just make sure all the proper steps are taken to protect your investment

thanks for the info,but the motors got 4-6000 miles on it,i dont know who built it,its got je pistons,worked crank,shot peened and balanced rods,type r cams and valve train,throwing down 210hp,but i think i am going to keep my car,thanks again

Personally id never buy a lunchbox setup(already completed/used) ONLY because you can never be sure how it was assembled.It could be in tip-top,but is it really worth it to find out?
