Build it. High compression, build head, and run individual throttle bodies.

:shakes head in dispare: You guys are clueless. ITB's....yeah, that will do it . VTEC_JOE, I highly suggest you thoroughly research what your getting into because as it stands right now, you sound VERY VERY new to working on cars.

The Type R gets a GS-R with hp, transmission gearing, weight reduction and suspension. There are many, many avenues you can go down to get your car faster than a Type R. The Type R is not that special. I wonder what the big deal is. You can build an RS that will walk all over a Type R. You can build an older model civic hatch crap that will whip an R. But what kind of fast do you want? 1/4 mile fast? That is easy. Around a track fast? That is much much harder. The Type R was never built with straight line performance in mind. It has always been a track car.

We all start somewhere. No one is born with this god given mechanical genius. I'm not mad at you at all, so please do not misunderstand me. This is simply a redundent, over asked question. In all seriousness, your best bet would be to research your competition and start from there. Good luck.

first a hype R is really not fast at all. i have driven one many time and i think its slow as hell
but if you want to build your gsr to be faster that can easly be done
ok lets start with the block
itr makes more power cuz of .6 more compression
throw some b16 pr3 pistons in there and you got 11.3 cr there now your block makes more power than an itr

the head
port it get after market springs and retainers and get some skunk2 stage 2 cams or any other after mafket cam thats equal to that

tuen it with a vafc or hondata

there now your faster than an itr

you can also get all the bolt ons
intake, header , exhaust , im, throttle body ect
you can also get a b16 trannie and put an lsd in there

Go to the all-motor forum, those guys there really know their stuff. I personally wouldnt listen to the advice of 90% of the people in the integra forum. Do your research and ask informed questions and you get pretty far.

stage 2s?? a lot of companies make their cams in stages.

Get some Omnipower coilovers, some Azenis, gut the car, run KFP brake pads, and a good I/H/E, and you will outperform a stock ITR in every performance aspect given identical driver skill.

All I had to do to beat type-r's in my db8 was to open the intake valve seats up about 1mm in diameter, so valves just barely contact the valve seats on the edge of the valve. I then got a mild valve job and that was it. With an intake and exhaust, it was faster than other gsr's with i/h/e and could hang with itr's with i/h/e. When I put in 98spec ITR cams, ITR's weren't a problem.
