Default Short geared d-series tranny?

I have a 99 cx and the long gearing is driving me crazy (I miss the si )

What d-series transmission has the shortest gearing?

D16Y8 is your best bet for a tranny swap. It's the S40.

Yes, but why would you want do switch trannies? Not only do you have the same gearing as the y8 tranny, but it's a possibility you have an LSD tranny. LSD = MUY BUENO! The only thing different between the d15b tranny and the y8 tranny is the steel shift forks in the y8 tranny that are stronger.

But if you REALLY wanna get a y8 tranny, you could sell me yours.

No, the DX has the same gearing I think. Just the CX is slower due to it's 8 valve set up.

That's what makes the Y8 tranny superior over the Z6
