Default B16 SOHC?

Alright this may sound silly.

There are couple guys in the town I live in that drive Riced out Hondas. One drive a 93 Prelude and the other a 98 Accord Coupe. Both have huge wings, body kits and neon underglow.

Anyways. They claim they were at a used car dealership the other day in town and there was a 6th Gen SI (US EX) there that had a B16 Block and SOHC Head on it.

They say there positive the Block said B16 (Although I belive it said D16). The head though had the Spark Plugs in the front and was SOHC. They also say it was VTEC because it had a VTEC Solenoid.

We went out there today but the car had been sold so I couldn't verify it.

It is possible to put a SOHC head on a B16 block? and if so why would somebody do that? what would be the point?

Yah figured they were full of it.

It probably said D16. Oh well those guys don't know **** anyways.

There both former Pony Car owners who bought Hondas after F&F came out and when gas got more expensive.

There is this red prelude that drives around my town with a huge sticker in the window that says V-TECH. One day I saw the owner at Safeway and told him his VTEC was spelled wrong. He denied it and I told him to look at his engine. I saw it again and its still spelled wrong so he either dosn't have a VTEC or is illiterate.
