How do I run an iPod in my car?
I know there have been a shitload of threads on this, but all of them give different answers. Someone said all I need to do is get some rca's and run them into the head unti (assuming the head unit has rca inputs which it does). Is that true? If that's the case, then why are there all these different kits that let you do the same thing? Thanks guys
The easiest way is with a fm modulator. The best way is with an aux input adapter. They are available on most decks and some aftermarket decks have them built in.

What kind of HU do you have? [make and model]

and the 4th way is if your headunit is a newer Alpine (as in this current/just ending model year) or a Pioneer (there adaptor was unvieled at the 2005 CES) you can get an interface box that plugs into the changer port of the matching radio, and plugs right into the bottom of your IPod. This allows you to control the IPod from your headunit, has great sound quality, and also displays the track and folder info from the headunit

But I think the Alpine and Alpine adpt. is the best out there

no, from what I get #3 converts the Changer input to RCA inputs. #4 is the actual interface for the ipod where it goes right from the changer port into the IPod, allowing complete control from the head unit

RCAS or Mini phono jack] or 3- CD port, only 3 ways I know of to get an audio sig. into the HU
