dont really see what the difficulty is in deciding on your swap??
LS would be good if you are thinking about boosting in the future but other wise if you wanna stay all motor then go B20VTEC

I've seen some mad horsepower numbers out of B20Vtec's those motors have a bit of torque and they accept boost very easily. But Idk I would go with a B20Vtec because everybody has a LSvtec

they accept boost easily? i thought b20 blocks had thin sleeves?
on me if i'm misinformed.

anyway, what's the swap for? racing or daily driving? and when you say LS, do you mean stock LS or LSVTEC? if you don't race, and it's just for daily driving, i would go stock LS hands down because it'd be cheaper, cleaner, less work, and would give you a decent amount of daily driving power improvement.
(if you meant LSVTEC, then forget everything i just said.)

If you just want to toss an engine in, I'd go with the B18B, cheaper.
Personally if I was going the B20VTEC route, I'd want to build it up nicely (for boost or n/a), sleeve the block, etc.

All depends on what you want to spend.

my friends got a b20vtec n/a setup. pulls pretty good. not really much done to it, but i've seen a dyno chart that shows almost 300hp out of an n/a b20vtec

id go ls turbo if i were you b/c of cost...if your down for building up the motor and have deep pockets b20vetc pulls hard man....but there also is nothing like a turbo spooling up and blowing off

I was under the impression he was going to build the block, which
A main part would be resleaving he didn't explain what
exactly his plans are so I'm not going to argue over something we
guessing blind on.

Me personally i would go lsvtec because the cylinder walls are very thin and the b20 wasn't meant to rev past 6 grand the ls you have the same stroke just an 81mm bore so you can slap some type r slugs in their for an extra kick. That is my opinion cause im bought to buy an ls for my 4 door I am just going ahead and making plans

i chose ls because it was readily avaliable and had plenty of used parts. I have the ls in my sol now and a ls/vtec in the final stages

the b20 has the same redline as the b18b and its 7k. i know this cause i have a stock b20 w/ sc50 in my car. also if you tune the b20 right, you wont have any problems boosting under 10psi, over 10+psi you can prolly get away with a couple times but not for daily driving. i boost 8psi and 10-12psi at the track. also you have to realize its not boost that cracks sleeves, its the amount of hp its putting out.

like everyone says, if you plan to stay na, i would go with the b20/vtec, if you plan to boost on a stock engine, then b18b.
