Default Power Street at MIR

I want to go but not sure if the car will be tuned to it's full potential by then. pretty much the question is will mid 12's be fast enough to be somewhat competitive or will it be just a waste of 65 bucks for me and a 5 hour trip?

NO racing is a waste of money! How do you know how you'll do unless you show up and try your hardest?? Don't wimp out just because your car is only in the mid 12's. Bring your A game and have some fun. You don't know who will (or won't) show up, so your mid 12's may be good enough to take home an Xbox cup!

Yeah I know but the fact the car might not be tuned the full potential means I can't bring my A game. I think mid 12's will be competitive but just seeing what others have to say.

im going to be there. I just got to find some damn rear interior. Ive heard stories of people losing with crazy fast cars to slower cars. I always cheer for the underdogs to be honest. :D I dont know if I got a chance but like you I'm going to give it my best.

If you need help with your car getting tuned PM st00pid. We'll be there with a dyno at all the NOPI events.

I think you'll be fine! Hey as long as you had fun is what matters! Gosh I ran that class with my car last year in Cardova and had no intention of even racing! The field allowed me to get 2nd place, so I have this nice little trophy sitting in my room!

Is this the radial class? If it is, what is the size limitations? Trying to run on a 235/60/15.

Art my buddy is tuning it and I already payed him. he is just waiting for the dyno to be in the floor to finish the tuning which is why the car may only be street tuned, but thanks for the heads up.

It is a radial class, full interior and exhaust...

Glenn will check in hopefully with the tire restrictions soon I hope. I know BFG's are allowed, as for the size I couldn't tell you. I know 225/50/15 works.

Everyone has a chance at this, so dont worry bout being an underdog...The practice is key thing when it comes to drag racing..learn the feel of the track, learn the feel of the car and learn the feel of everyone around you..The part that makes me nervous the most is all the ppl watching you 10,000 eyes watching your every move, ya know? Show up and run, the worst that could happen is breaking...and breaking is what makes this sport what it is..

Cant wait to see everyone there...

•TIRES/WHEELS: DOT approved drag radials only, no bias ply tires allowed. Max tire size limited to 235/60. Cars running 11.99 or quicker must have metal valve stems. Tubes permitted. AWD entries must run DOT Street radial tires. NOTE: “ABSOLUTELY” NO MINI SPARE TIRES OR NON-SPEED RATED TIRES MAY BE USED.

Straight out of the rulebook online. Hope this helps you guys.

Holy ****, AWD's are allowed in power street? I already know of one attendee that runs mid 10's. Looks to be a class dominated by DSM'S, Evo's and Scoobies.

Put it this way becuase the class is so new, you will have a good chance.
But if a few of the regulars show up, they are going low 11's on radials. Just hope for a break or a bad bog if you line up against them. Youll never know until you get out there.

I don't know if they are allowed power adders though. I know RWD cars aren't allowed power adders in this class

Yea i dont think they can run power adders. At least they couldnt last year.
Look at the rules quick. But even so. like I said the class is new. Not many people know it exists yet so there are only 2-5 cars in the class most of the time

well I have to nag my buddy to get me on the dyno today or tomorrow then I will decide if it is worth the trip/entry fee. it runs good on 12psi now but really needs the high boost tune on the dyno since the 12psi tune is a street tune.

If you didnt get atleast pistons and some good management in that thing yet, just be careful on what you consider a high boost tune.
Granted that turbo is little, but still.

Anyway good luck

the most boost it will run on the wastegate and my controller is 23psi so that is max. if I went external it would make more but I am sure it would be out of it's range then. last year on a crap tune and 17psi and race gas I traped at 116mph with a full weight car so I think it will do 360ish whp or at least I am hoping. they will be dyno jet #'s too so they might be a little higher
