does a good alignment help launching and wheel hop?
just curious would getting a good alignment ie. adjusting the cast/cam to 0/0 or as close as possible drop 60 fts and help eliminate wheel hop? i have a 93 coupe with a b16. type r trans. hasport 70 series motor mounts and i still hop like a mother ******. had an alignment about a year ago. let me know
I think alignment, toe, camber, and caster i think all make a big difference. Not just 60ft but all the way down the track. My opinion only.
You should also use traction bars. All of the alignment in the world will not stop the fact that your suspension moves when force is exerted upon it. You NEED to stiffen it up. Just my .02$, and I havent even tried mine out yet.
a good alignment is helpful in getting the right contact patch on your slicks. i've had customers come to us with their old slicks and its obvious that the wear on the slicks are mostly on 1 side. with a right alignment you can have the full contact on the slicks to the ground.
its not going to fully affect wheel hop. you need traction bars and the right suspension for that.
another thing we do to all our race cars is corner weighing the cars when aligned. they make so much difference in driving the car down the track. you dont get the pulls to the right or feel that the car wants to lean a certain way. it just goes straight as an arrow.

I second the use of anti sway bars, both front and rear, to make the car stiffer and more conttrollable!
It's because of them that my launch has become smoother, and the car does not 'move about' at higher speeds.
