Transmission Noise Randomly Started Today
Yea so I can't quite figure out what it could be. I was simply driving today, not aggressive or anything, and I haven't driven aggressive for a while now.
Anyway, leaving work I was coming to a redlight so I put the car in neutral and rolled to a stop, but the whole time i was rolling, there was a ticking noise that I thought originally mighta been a messed up axle, but after shifting more today and hearing my car trying to go in gear, I know its the tranny.
The ticking was slight and only heard from 5 mph till stop. However, When driving, putting the car in 2nd around corners or into 5th it makes a horrible noise while i am putting it in gear and letting the clutch up. The clutch is making funny noises to. Once its in gear though, its sounds much better, still has some noise, but much better.
I would say its the clutch, but if i try sliding the car into gear without using the clutch it will make the ticking noise instead of just not going into gear without matching rpms. I dunno maybe syncros, input shaft bearing maybe?
Maybe the whole tranny is shot? But so randomly? It came out of no where. I guess I should get it checked out ASAP.

While the car is running at 0 mph hour, does it make the ticking noise? If so, does it get quieter when you push in the clutch? If it does, it may be your case bearings. Other noise making possibilities: throw out bearing, springs on clutch disk
yea it kinda makes the ticking noise at idle, and clutch engaged it stops. However this ticking noise while rolling from 10-0 mph is new. And the slopppy noise in 5th and changing gears is new as well. I think I might need to get it rebuilt soon.
