Default 195/50/15

Will there be a big different if I use 195/50/15 with my stock rims? (the stock tire is 195/55/15)

i think the width from the rim to the top of the tire is more narrow.

You hit a pot-hole w/ 195/50/15, it'll do some nice damge to your rims than if you were running 205/50 or 195/55.

FYI - don't run Azenis during Seattle's rainy months. You'll hydroplane.

Nah those are both not true. I hit potholes all the time. No rim damage. The difference between the 95/55 and /50 is pretty negligable.
I beg to differ. I did bend my rims w/ 195/50/15s where as 195/55/15s were fine 4x4ing over the potholes. And, I did hydroplane (considerable rain drop... not drizzle) with my Pirelli P-zero Assymetrico in Seattle. If it hydroplanes w/ P-zero, why risk hydroplaning with Azenis (absolutely no water channel). In Seattle I would definitely have two sets of tires and rims.

I ran 195/50s for about 10K miles with no problems. The speedo was off at higher speeds, but no big deal. Not much tread on the ground though, compared to the 205/50s I have now.

The change from 195/55-15 to 195/50-15 will make the speedo (and odo) read roughly 3.3 percent higher at all speeds.

shorter revs. i have 195/50-15s with no bends due to pot holes and after shifting at 8K i now land at 6K instead of 5.7K. first gear anyway. B16a w/Y1 tranny.

Wrong. Changing the size of your tires doesn't change the revs that you land at. That's determined only by the difference between the ratios of the two gears.

What if I use stock tires (195/55/15) at the back and 195/50/15 in front?

nsx is correct. 195/50 or even the 195/45 is like the poor man's final drive. you only change the final ratio with shorter tires, not the individual gear spacing. stock 195/55's have a od (outside diameter) of 23.44 inches. a 195/50 has the same width, but a shorter profile (22.67 od) that basically gives you an increased final drive ratio of 4.54 to 1 (assuming you had a stock 4.40 final...blah!) IMHO, a 195 is too skinny for our cars. i would run a minimum of a 205.

you will save some weight. You will also reduce the overall diameter of your wheel, increasing your gear ration so the car should accelerate faster, but I don't know if you will notice it. You will also throw your speedmeter off by 2-3 mph/
