well i just failed emissions again -_-
okay, well i failed the first time i figured.. bad cat?
so i replaced it, and then went back for round 2.
where i failed once again, with two cats... >.<
now i am stumped, i have three months so no hurry.. but
i jus wanted to ask you guys what the problem might be before i go out and buy a new engine
edit --- o yea, i failed with almost double the standards both times

i was thinking of doing a tune up.. but then it would cost about as much as i could get a used d16 for, which i know might not pass emmisions( hopefully i buy one that will ) but id feel realli bad dropping all that cash into a d15b8
thx tho
i kno what parts to replace when i do do a tune up!
if it helps.. i put a 96 + header on there with the cat built into it after my first fail.
before i put that on the o2 sensor was black..
after it was white...
i kno for spark plugs that means either lean or rich.
would it be the same for the o2 sensor?
thx tho

i failed the emmisions part, and it doubled the output of everything that was measured.
id put the charts up but i dun have a scanner here.
i can when i get back to school in a few days.
when i tested it i had a 96 + stock header on it, so i was running two cats

so you were more then double the standards for both HCs and COs? different areas test for different things. if you were over on both HCs and COs its a rich misfire. if you could post numbers up at idle, 1500 and 2500 or whatever they test at that would help a lot.
also, did you change the oil right before you went? what kind of gas were you using? and did u drive the car some before testing and NOT shut the car off while waiting in line?
