Anybody have an idea what might be causing the creaking noise in the rear of my suspension? Not only do I get it coming out of driveways and going over speed bumps, but just driving down the street. It sounds literally like the sound that you get when you walk over old floorboards in a house. It's definately not a squeak. Any help would be appreciated

 

I had the creak also. Installation of a harness bar across the C pillar got rid of it

Normal considering the suspension mods you have. I've had the exact same noise coming from the back of my car ever since i got the sway bar/tie bar/rear tower bar installed. I cant wait to hear the noises my car is going to make after I get ES bushings.

Yoshi-Do you have a pic of your bar? I'm curious... but I'm guessing it prevents people from sitting in the back eh?

2k1 GS-R I'm not entirely sure it's because of the mods that I have. I would figure a stiffer chassis would be less noisy than more.

Haha, what I should do I just take one piece off at a time and see when the noise disappears...

OMG, I've been having this problem for the last 2 months and its driving me up wall. I was actually about to go and take out my springs/shocks and rear swaybar just to see where the problem is. So you guys are saying its normal? Let me describe what my car does.

When I go up my driveway, at an angle, there is this creaking sound and some clicking/tapping sound. Is this what you guys are experiencing as well?

 

Everytime I go over a bump or up a steep driveway it creaks just as Ein described. It bothered me at first but now I'm used to it. I wouldn't worry about it unless it drives you nuts.

 

heh, I also experience that, funny how nobody really mentioned it until now.

that's the same noise I had pre-harness bar.

I don't have pix b/c the flat black color doesn't show up well against the black seats. Maybe I'll take some after I repaint it.

I have that same thing. I am almost sure that it is the rear swaybar bushing. when i upgraded to the 22mm (itr) bar, I probably did not put enough lube on it

 

The squeek/creak I get is from the hatch.

The adjustment procedure is in the Helms Manual, of course.
