what wires do i tap on my dimmer switch for my gauge lights ?
just use a volt meter ant probe the wires, 12v constant is what you want if you get lower reading move dial and see if it fluctuates dont use that wire, should take 2 minutes, less time than it took you to post this
The answer is in the string that rexwreck gave you.
But there is something that you have to know (or read between the lines), and that's in order to have the dimmer work, you have to hook up both the red/black wire and then the solid red wire to the other side of the light.
If the gauge "grounds" out the light to the body of the gauge, you can't get the dimmer function to work.
That solid red wire is a "variable ground" based on where the dimmer switch is positioned.
