Default how bad can it be, only missing one wheel nut...

i took off and put on the tires once just to fix the bumper. when i tried putting it back on the bolt that the lugnut/wheel nut goes on was stripped really bad. cant even rethread it. i took it to the shop to get a balance yesterday and they sad that pretty bad. u should get it done asap. its not that expensive but i was just wondering how bad can it be not only to be missing a lugnut, but also to have that bolt part stripped? by the way its the front left.

how bad is it to run with only three? imagine removing a spark plug and running three cylinders instead of four.
OK, that's not exactly the same, but if this fails the rim will come off or bend...

replace the wheel stud, it's an inexpencive part. Also pick up some different lug nuts, they tend to be what causes this to happen.

well i dont know but i run my 4 wheeler one 3 lug nuts outa 4 and i ride the **** outa it ... i.e jumps hard turns flip it all that stuff and i have never had a problem with that.. a car weighs more for sure but i bet if you tightened the rest really good you should be fine....but dont let that wheel fall off my friends fell off and his fender was smashed, scraped paint off the door, bent the body between the door and windshield and gave him some mad curb rash. i would just rethread it myself its not to hard just get the rite tools and its easy ive rethread things before and wasnt hard

I rode on 3 lug nuts for around 4 months because the 4th was stripped for some reason. That was on my front drivers side wheel. Then I swapped for Integra hubs. You're fine.

It could cause you to warp your rotor since unequal pressure will placed on it.

I rode with 3 for a long time no problem. I don't know how the shop actually worked on your car tho...I took my car to Walmart to get tires and they wouldn't touch it without a lugnut

You know those cars on the shoulder of the freeway, sitting on their brake caliper...

They were probably missing a lug nut.

IMHO...its not worth the risk.

3 shouldnt be bad just remeber to keep em tight..u could get a similar nut get ion pretty tight with a clamp n drill it and throw a cotter pin in it to be safe..just untill u can get it fixed i wouldnt want nething to get fucked up cause if ur wheel came off it could mess up alignment brakes shocks axles a bunch of stuff...honestly tho i dont think its to much of a problem i ran three for a while cause i didnt tighten one when i put my new wheels on and it rattled aff and i didnt notice untill recently
