What swaps in better in an ef.... A b16 tranny or b18 tranny? Can't be much of a difference if any, but just want your opinion on which transmission is better and why (we are not talking motors, just trans). Just wan't to be sure I go with the right transmission, that is actually more important to me than the motor becuase don't b16 transmissions bolt up to b18's and vice versa? Or am I completely off again...

 

B series transmissions are pretty much interchangeable. It all depends on which engine you are using for the swap as all cable transmissions swap in the same. You can even use the newer hydro b series transmissions if you use the hasport hydro conversion kit.

 

How hard is it to go with a hydro?

 

Simple, just buy the hasport EFB2 kit and you are set. It comes with everything you need to use the hydro transmission in the ed chassis.

i have a questioni dotn think is worthy of a new thread, so im gona jack this one. Differentials (stock) are interchangable bettwen b16 and ls right? cable trans. I just made my diff go boom, so i need to know

 

yo whats up man i build cars for a liviling if u put a b16 tranny on a gsr or any b18 u be ripping gears becuase u have much sorter gearing then a gsr and almost as short as a type r better off with b16 there getting more expensive because there better so if u do pick one up quick and yes they do bult on to a b18 and vise versa
