did any nuts come with the kit? because there's 2 studs in the block already so you'll need some nuts for that.

just ask them for honda bond, there should be only 2 nuts, and the rest should be bolts

dang, once i removed the oil pan, the old gasket was so mushed. i literally had to chisel the old one off. all the sides have uneven surfaces now! im afraid to put on my new gasket because there might be a chance of a leak. how can i remove all this excess gasket?

Maybe take a dremel with a wire brush attachment. Or maybe sand paper? Haven't done this one yet, but it shouldn't be to difficult.

woo hoo just got done changing the gasket. getting to it was the easy part. the worse part is taking off the old gasket. had to dremel that **** off! i ended up using some rtv silicone sealant. just got back from a test drive and all went well. if anybody has any questions about changing the gasket, let me know.

time for a shower!

So did the dremel and wire brush attachment work? Just would like to know for a future reference.

my only add-on advice is to make sure the oil pan is level-- check it with a straight edge. I replaced my gasket once and it still leaked, ended up taking it back off and pounding it out straight.

greyout,

how effective is that gasket remover spray? do you use it to remove the pieces of stuck on gasket/gunk?

diluted,

1) what other parts did you have to remove to remove the oil plan (downpipe, etc).

2) how long did it take you?

3) did you have any problems reaching any of the nuts?
