Im in the process of swapping a b16a1 into a customers 88 civic. The harness is pretty badly butchered so Im trying to find some info as well. What are you putting it in? The original engine in the car im doing was a D15 with throttle body injection. I think i have my work cut out for me. Oh yeah. its also an AUTOMATIC. not sure if that makes much of a difference.

You have a dpfi, so you have to do a mpsi swap on it, if you need we can do it for you at http://www.rywire.com yes, if its a auto, you will need to run 1 extra wire for the backup switch(you use the exhisting wire as well)

And to run vtec we also make a harness for that.

Actually, the problem I am having is with the wiring of the transmission. The original transmission was automatic, and the B16 is also staying with the automatic transmission it came with. There are about 6 wires going to the transmission. Where can i find the schematics for the auto trans?

The engine is a 1mill series engine so its out of an integra. Is there anything to cross reference that with?

The vss is located in the rear of the tranny, use you 88-91 tranny vss and use the cable operated system. That take care of 3 wires...

The backup switch has 2 wires, and the auto has 1, you have to run the extra wire for it to work.

The newer tranny is also a cable vss, so there are no wires for that. I have solenoids aross the front, so these have to be powered by a ecu. I found out that I will have to use a 90-93 integra trans control unit as well as the shifter switch to tell the ecu what gear it is in. Not sure how im gonna get that to fit into the custom console already in the car but Ill get to that when i have to.
