Default 99-00 or 96-98 frontend?

I'm not sure if this has been covered yet...
I have a 96 hatch and got into an accident tuesday. I personally don't think it's totaled but it's all up to the insurance appraisor guy. My question is since I'm going to need a whole new front end, should I convert to 99-00? The only way the 99-00's look good (IMO) are with foglights. Next thing is I'm going to have an intercooler. could I be able to have foglights with an intercooler? and wihch intercooler looks best in 99-00 fronts? 5" or 6"? any help would be appreciated...

Intercoolers look the same but check out the jonny racercar ones, they're cheap, the 8 in looks really good. But I'm doubting you can use the fog lights with it,

ok, maybe I wasn't clear enough...
I'm will have turbo soon and I need to know if foglights work with intercoolers? and if so how hard is it to fit/modify them? I just ask which one looks better to find out which one fills the bumper out nicely. Just disregard the last question if you want...

U could flip the intercooler "upside down" and keep the fog lights (depending on size of core)

that's a good idea. If I had an intercooler with offset endtanks, that would work great... keep the ideas coming.

if you have a turbo and want to have foglights get the 99-00 front end.

With a little working and some slite mods, you can get the fogs to work on the 99-00 with n FMIC.

the 96-98 how ever, have the fogs mounting in the center gril part. It would require a lote more work and some rewiring to get them to work with an FMIC.

for some reason i like my 96 front. But it needs the OEM CTR clip and gun metal headlights, and the ctr grill.

If its stock then the 99-00 looks better.

Does anyone have a picture of the starion intercooler w/ 99-00 fogs installed?

There is one intercooler that doesn't have any pipes on the side so you could use the fogs. http://www.straightlinespecial...d=115
It's a really big intercooler but you couls still use the fogs with it. It's not that expensive either.

I think the cars totaled now that I looked closely at the frame. here are some pics,

So anyone think it can be fixed? I think it's F**ked
The thing that worries me is the metal fender part that's dented. The subframe itself isn't bent anywhere but the metal fender parts are...
let me know if I should resize them...

Oh yeah, and we finally got the Accident report from the Police because of Good Friday, the records Department was closed. The cop was cool and nice to me, and he wrote alot of stuff in the report to show that it was in fact the other guys fault just so insurance can't talk ****. I hope everything goes good, my '96 hatch only had 79-80k on it so maybe insurance will give me enough money to get another car without money from our pockets I'm going to get another hatch and just swap all the parts over. Only things lost were "CTR" headlights. So if anyone can look out for a hatch local to Austin. Houston and SA are fine too. I would like a 99-00 but anything will do.

HAHHA....How did you not think that was total. You have about at least 6000 dollars damage there . It is civic....is not worth 10 thousand dollars. IF i were you, i would find another shell and swap over the useable part. You HAVE frame damage there by just looking at it from the photo. Good luck with your car

Yeah, I realized it was totaled. I'm trying to find another hatch and swap over everything. Only thing that was lost was the "CTR" headlights. The question of "Is it totaled?", is over.
