the best thing to do would be to pick up a shop manual on the car.it will run you step by step exactly what you need to do so you dont have the airbag blow up in your face. you can just go down to autozone or whatever and pick up one of those cheap ones, those usually have enough info to get you through it safely

Search, this has been covered many times in the itr forum.......

You really should buy yourself a helms. If you cant figure out how to take off the SRS cable reel (srs/cruise/horn plugs) then maybe you shouldnt be messing with it.

ive been searching all day and found nothing
but the srs cable reel isnt even the problem, i kno to unplug it. the problem im having is actually bolting on the new wheel. it doesnt seem to fit right. after bolting on the 19mm nut the wheel would either be too tight to steer with or too loose. plus i think i need a washer or something the nut is rubbing on the top of the wheel. its hard to explain help plz! btw ive got a chiltons manual but that didnt help me much either

hmm, thats weird because i searched and found a thread on how to remove the srs unit and cruise control, but it was on a DA i believe. But it helped me out when i replace my 95 steering wheel with a 98 type r one. I don't know where the thread is but it's out there.

would you mind giving me directions on how to install the wheel itself? the threads on the center bolt thingy dont match up to the new wheel.

have you tried turning or wiggling the wheel side to side? if it doesn't fit then i don't know what else to tell you.. maybe you bought the wrong steering wheel?
