Default CX finally going to die?

Ok for a while now i have been trying to kill the stock '94 CX engine in my car. Revving the engine to 5500rpms, and bouncing it off the limiter. Just to make noise.

On the weekends i take every gear to the max, so i can keep up with everyone that is driving normal. LoL.

Well now, the idle is all werid, it will go from 800rpm to 1300rpm back to 800 and so on.. like sitting in neutral it will go up and down. Its steady tho, doesnt bog out or ne thing. Does this mean its finally going to take a crap on me?

It started when i changed my oil about a week ago. It also did it the time i changed it before that, but it went away. This time its not going away.

Sounds like a sensor? Don't think the motor is done

Damn...

What sensor could it be? is there one that goes to the cat.? or any part of the exhaust underneath?

If you're that desperate to destroy the motor...why not just yank it out? Either way you'll be spending the money.

sounds like the Idle air control valve. Thats what it was on my Eclipse or the Throttle position sensor or maybe the Manifold absolute pressure? All of these are throtle body related so unfortunately that car will prolly run ( LIKE ****) for a while more.

Yo im in the same boat as you. But my eclipse used to Die at a light after first making me look like an idiot by idleing all assy. Then id turn on the car spool up the turbo and laugh. I replaced the TPS and it stopped dying but it still idles like ****. I need to put the IAC on but i need to reset the system and ground out the IAC to do it and im not in the mood so i just listen to the idle and race a lot more people thanks to my IAC

Sounds like a vaccum leak to me. I had the same issue once when my cruise control hose came off my intake manifold. Did exactly what you are talking about.

most likley your problem is either your tp sensor or you have a vacuum leak somewhere in your motor.....check that

You can put water in instead of oil and it will last for a while still. Those engines can take a beating. if you really want to kill it take off the intake tubing and the header and drive around it'll still last a while but it'll be faster than just revving it hard everywhere.

Sounds like a vaccum leak to me....probably for the IACV or something. Mine did that when I took my BOV off and didn't plug the vaccum hose off that went to the BOV. It would go up and down between like 500-1500 rpm for like a minute or 2 then it would just stop and idle a little high.

Just go to all the vaccum lines and listen. Feel the hoses. Maybe take a soapy spray bottle and spray them...I'm not sure if it'll work since it'd be sucking not blowing but it might help lol i dunno.

trust me its not the vaccum line. at least on mine it isnt. its the idle air control vavle, above the intake manifold. how do u fix that? do u just replace it?
