ok i have a b16 crx that is obd0, yesterday i replaced my starter and fired it up, it ran fine, i then brought it into my garage and fixed a stripped cam gear bolt and re-assembled it, i went to fire it up and nothing happened. after some tinkering i found that it wasnt getting any spark (brand new dizzy), all the components are good but still no spark. i took the dizzy off the motor and touched the bottom bolt lobe to the head and turned the wheel that connects to the cam, and there is perfect spark, i put the dizzy back on and no spark!! i tried this about 4 times and the same thing everytime!!!

when i rub the dizzy against metal there is sparks between them....?

there is nothing blocking it from the motor like wires or anything and my grounds are hooked up (the right way i think). no matter what part i touch to the motor when i spin the wheel i get spark, but when its bolted up... i get nothing!

 

bad ground on motor, run a new ground wire directl to a bolt on the dizzy

 

grounded 2 of them and still not a spark to be seen, it has to do with the starter, the only time it doesnt have spark is when the starter is being activated, maybe if i were to push it and jump start it than it would fire up.

ok had nothing to do with the starter, shatter pin was not connecting the cam and the cam gear together so the cam wasnt spinning, therefore no spark!
