Default GSR stutter

my friend just recently swapped his 95 GSR into a 93 coupe and the last couple of weeks it has been acting wierd. before it is at full temp for his car it engages VTEC fine but when it gets to normal running temp it stutter to engage vtec and every so often it does but most of the time it wont and stutters the whole thru. He just replaced the head gasket and when done the timing was 3/4 inch retard on the crank pulley so like two teeth. now he got that straight we have changed distrubitors and he cant run his at no advance or retarded or it wont run but if you advance it three degrees it will idle? any ideas and we did use my distrubitor to check that.

Put a timing light on it. Corcect timing isn't necessarily with the distributor in the middle.

are you absolutely sure it's tdc on the cams? That happened to me, I thought everything was tdc, but my exhaust cam was a tooth off. I had to fully advance my distributor too. Car ran like ****, but idled fine. It wouldn't die if the dizzy was retarded, but but it had no hp, to the point that I could out run the car on foot. I figured it out with a timing light.

we used the timing light and everything is tdc that isnt the problem we need to know why the vtec stutters.

Is it just me or can anyone else understand what he's saying? Man...reread your posts before you post them and ask yourself if they make sense. It's hard enough to diagnose problems over the internet as it is, but it's nearly impossible to do it when the posts barely qualify as english.

If the car threw a check engine light, try retrieving the code and see what it says.

Yeah, been struggling with that too. If your car throws a code, check it right away. That's common sense. Other than that, just be clear and concise and i'm sure you will solve your problem.

okay we did check the code right away or else I wouldnt have known it was the vtec pressure code number 22 I think. but as I said it went away after 10 minutes. by the way I didnt know you had to be a english major to post here sorry. I was trying to post at work and not get behind. but the Vtec pressure code did come on one time but it did go away. when he drives and holds rev at 5 thousand there is alot of engine noise sounds like valve to piston to me.

English major?....no. The way you typed your post barely qualified as an english minor. I can understand you being in a rush but if you want your questions answered correctly, you have to ask them correctly.
