Default NDRA Pro Outlaw RWD question....

rules for Pro Outlaw RWD say

Pro Outlaw RWD Recognizable Stock body, no full tube chassis, RWD back halved chassis ok,6 cyl OHC, air cooled ok, slicks okay,

seems like alot of the cars in this class are full tube....what makes them not?

What cars are full tube? I remember looking at the Lexus when it first popped up in Bristol last year and I thought for sure it was a Pro RWD car...but after I went up and looked at it close sure enough its a backhalf Lexus GS.

I remember everyone giving Brent trouble about his car not being legal for Modified...but its within the rules.

i think its because they keep some of the front clip intact like the strut mounts....

brent rau has the most limit pushing front tube ive seen.....
we are only back half in the miata but who knows if that will have to be limit pushed in the future......

james

its within

Brent's car is " an exception" to an extentent. Brents car is complete tube chassis, but the rules state that he has to add weight if he has no shock towers. BUT!!!!! he does have a stock firewall and stock floor which the rules require.so yes you can push the rules to a point but there are also weight penalties added as well.

alot of the cars are pretty much 3/4 chassis and not back halved. which is fine with me . makes for a stronger, sturdier car as well as safer.

All the cars in Outlaw RWD are within the rules, although some of them push the rules they still stay within them. Our car is a back halved stock body RX-7 with Stock glass power windows. It doesn't really matter about the other cars in the Outlaw RWD class, it just gives us more motivation to go faster with our car

also if you ever noticed that BRENT doesn't run NHRA. if he did he would be in PRO RWD and not PRO MOD. so there goes to show you on how far he is pushing the rules to be "a back halved car"

Brent is the ****! I talked to him a few weeks ago about his car and yes he still retains the stock firewall and floor. He said he's really pushing the limits. 2.0L all turbo no nitrous woot woot

next time u talk to brent u tell him they guy that let him borrow a driveshaft in san antonio a long time ago and he returned it almost a year later is still hating on him....

***** said hed replace the shaft and u joints and send it back "new" after he got home.....he has never been my favorite person after that...

he tore his up in the last round of qualifying and asked if i could hook him up with a first gen shaft.....i found him one from a close frined and all he wanted was to talk with him(he is a major mitsu guy) and that brent would sned back a new unit...

never returned calls never returned emails nothin...one day out of the blue nearly a year later a box comes in the mail with the shaft in it....blown ujont and tweeked shaft.....

he may be the **** in driving that monster but he aint my favorite person....it aint right to say but that was the race in the finals he had a cracked fuel rail and burned the car bad.....hated to see that happen to anyone...even him...
