1992 si swap info
i am looking at buying a 1992 prelude si with a h23 it has 220,000 miles on it, i want to put the h22 vtec motor in it, i need to know everything i need to buy and or do for the swap. see i currently have a 1991 hatch with a b16 and i want to get rid of it for something alittle more stylish and quicker
You'll need an engine, transmission (if you want the proper h22 tranny, your SI trans will work), and an ECU (P13, unless you are going to do a Hondata setup). Most of the other stuff can be reused. The clutch, flywheel, engine mounts, alternator, driveshafts, power steering pump, etc. will work with the new engine.
While you have the engine out of the car, it's a good time to replace the timing belt, the water and oil pumps, and any gaskets you care to replace.
If you use the search functions, you will see that there are a ton of posts on this that'll help you fill in anything I left out.
