This is starting to get annoying!
Everytime i go to warm up my car i have to leave the door open because i'm afraid of this automatic power lock crap. I've locked my key's in my car 3 times in 2 months and it's starting to irritate me! Is there any way to disable this or something?
what do you mean? Once you turned your engine on, the auto-door lock is dissabled. All you have to do is leave it in the unlock position and close the door. It will still be unlock as long as you don't go inside the car and lock it.
No mine doesn't operate like that. For example: I want to get out of my car and the doors are locked so i press the unlock button then shut the door well i hear this *CLICK* and the doors lock back up.
Maybe it is an aftermarket alarm? I just got into the habbit of opening my window a few inched because of the same thing. This way, it never happens.
If you crank your car with the door closed then it will lock itself, but if you leave the door open, it will disengage it. If you are still scared then just hit the unlock button before you close the door. That's what I do, and i've never locked my key's in my car.
i know with my alarm it used to lock the door , unless i turned the car with the door opened.. just leave the window down, that way u can unlock it

I never had a problem w/ my power locks before I got my alarm, it worked like you would expect it to. With my alarm, it locks the doors 3 seconds after I start the car (unless door is open), and when I turn the car off the doors unlock (convenient, since I don't like driving around w/ unlocked doors). I've never had any mysterious locking or unlocking. Then I press the lock button on my remote to lock the car and arm the alarm, unlock to open the doors and disarm the alarm.
However if anything fishy happens, I always keep a spare key in my wallet (which also allows me to start the car in the morning but keep the doors locked).

Weird, my 2k1 GSR doesn't do that and I have the factory Acura alarm. When I warm my car up in the morning I use my spare key to manually lock the car while I go back inside for a few minutes.

I've never had to use a key to lock the door, either. I always just either hit the lock button or remote to lock the doors. The only time I EVER use my key now is when it's outside warming up (engine on) and I have to unlock the door from the outside. At all other times I use the remote to unlock the doors.
If you have keyless just disable the power door locks completely. It helps deter thieves too from jacking CDs or whatever from your car. Other than that...just chill in the car while it warms!
if i crank the motor w/ the door opened it wont autolock.. when i turn the ignition off the doors unlock.. dunno i guess cuz im worried of theft.. whenever i warm up my car i jsut stay in there and listen to cd's..
to fix this, all u have to do is pull the fuse underneath steering column, for Auto Door Lock or whatever it is labeled you wil see it, and that will fix your problem. Hope this helps.
