omnipower coilovers question
i just recievd my omnipowers yesterday and am wondering how many nuts im supposed to have in the box. i only recived 2. 1 other question is when the back two coilovers are fully adjusted from the adjustable lowering collar they are a lil longer than the front two when they are also fully adjusted. i just lined them up on the floor and noticed the two back were longer. just wondering if this is normal and if it will still lower the car evenly.
these are for 96-00 ek coupe streets

the 2 nuts are for the LCA bolts for the rear. Other aftermarket shocks have a welded nut, where as the omni's don't. Therefore, you only need 2 nuts.
install the coilovers in the car, and tighten down all the nuts except the large nut on the strut shaft.
first preload the suspension:
use your allen wrench and box end wrench to loosen the large nut on the strut shaft until the top of the nut is flush with the top of the shaft. then undo the upper locking collar, and rotate the spring and spring perch to the right, so that the spring is well seated against the tophat. then tighten down the upper collar lock so that the spring perch will not move. you do not adjust the height with the spring perch, it is only for preloading!!!
next to set the ride height:
loosen the lower locking ring, then you can turn the strut body by hand, or use the allen wrench only (without using box end) as I did to turn the shaft around the body, rather than the body around the shaft. to set the ride height i simply measure the entire length of the coilover from the top hat to the bottom of the coilover for a baseline. then lowered the car off the jack stand with the wheel on to see how much more I wanted to lower it. Then lowered it that amount using my measurement of the shock body. after lots of trial and error, once i found the measurement for one strut on the front and rear, i would apply that same measurement to the other side of the vehicle for uniform ride height. once you reach the height you want tighten the lower collar lock.
finishing:
once the proper ride height is reached and the lower collar is locked, use the boxend wrench and the allen wrench to tighten down the nut on the strut shaft until it is nice and firm.
at this point take it out for a ride and enjoy.

the directions suck *******. I was better off without them. the only good directions from the instructions were that the upper collar is not for adjustment, only for setting preload.
to answer your question, you need to lossen the bottom most lock collar only. do not mess with the upper spring perch and upper lock collar because you should have already raised them as high as they may go for preloading and should have tightened the upper spring perch locking collar. then you can use your allen wrench to lengthen or shorten the coilover. using the allen is much easier than twisting the lower strut body by hand. just bust out a measuring tape and see the difference in the length of the coilover as you adust the height. once you are happy with the height, lift the vehicle again, tighten the lower lock collar. put wheel back on, tighten top nut for preload, and repeat for other sides.

that nut is on hella tight. i used an allen key and 19, but nothing works. i lubed it wd-40, but no results. my allen key bent. What else can i try to loosen the nut so i can preload them? only have this problem on the front coilovers.

hey i just installed the omnipower coilovers and i hear sounds from the rear kinda like "clunk clunk" kinda sounds like its bottoming out or something.
anyone know what the problem might be?

what if you've already preloaded the coilovers, set them back onto its wheels and have been driving them for a while and then want to change the height ... how do you do this? just loosen the 19mm nut at the top? because ive been trying and it seems to drag the rubber (bushing) that it lies on top of, right with it.. it seems as if its ready to break or soemthing....
