I bought a 97 civic with a b16a2 in it. The problem is the wiring... it sucks. Its splited here and there, so I bought a obd2 dist, injectors and alternator and got what is supposed to be a 97 civic ex engine harness. The problem is that the harness doesnt go all the way from the engine to the computer. I asked the guy and he said that a 97 civic is a two piece harness. Is this true? And if its true, only the engine piece for 150, doesnt this sound a little expensive? Thanks for any replies and yes I did a search but couldnt find any info on it.

I believe he may be correct. If I remember, there should be a harness that plugs to all sorts of stuff on the engine, then it connects through the firewall. From there, it connects to a different connector and then to the ecu.

In this case, it must be the 99-00 si harness. Am i correct? I vaguely remember and now I want to clear things up.

I sold an ex harness and remember its a one piece.

When the b16a2 came, I think it was a 2 pieces with a grommet stuck somewhere near it.

 

No, 99-00 si harness is also 1 piece.

Take the harness back to the guy and get your money back, he doesnt know what hes talking about, and get another harness.

Oh and why did you buy the distributor and injectors etc. ? If its a usdm b16a2 its already an obd2 engine and that is what should already be on there.
