Every time i turn my 2000 prelude , my abs pump makes a noise like its pumping right then. i am not sure if that is normal. I went to honda for them to check somthing else out for me and they brought to my attention that it did that during startup. i already knew it did that, but of course they wanted to check it out for 80 dollars an hour so i said screw that. Is it normal for tyhe pump to make noise on startup? is it somthing i sould worry about?

 

I tell you what, I have a 92 Si 4WS and my ABS pump does the exact same thing. I had some 1 tell me that it might just be it checking it self for the pressure or something but it works perfectly fine.

 

yes if it is coming from the passengers side rear then it should be considered normal --- it primes itself or does a self check ....

 

From what I gather it's perfectly normal and is caused by your ABS unit doing a self diagnosis test on itself, as long as it stops after a few seconds then it is nothing to worry about.
