i am hearing what is either pinging/detonation, or a very rattling alternator bearing or something else vibrating at that frequency at around 3000rpm, for only 100-200 rpm, but i can hear it while just revving the engine with no load, at all throttle levels. i hear dont hear the noise at any other time, except that rpm range. even while under heavy load it cant be heard.

i have 12.6 cr, but i run 93+ octane, the ecu is chipped and the fuel pressure is turned up, generally the car runs very rich.

ideas?
