Default FS: Sleeved d-series d16z6 notched etc. CHEAP!

Hey everyone I have a d16z6 bare block. I bought it from a guy that got it sleeved and was pushing 18 pounds of boost for 3 months no problem until he detonated and ate his ringlands on piston 3. There is some damage to that cylinder wall so its either going to have to be bored out. or get just one new sleeve. It comes with a new water pump. The block has been notched so eagle rods will fit right in. All I want for this block is $180+ shipping. The reason im selling so cheap is because I dont know who sleeved the block but you can clearly see it was, and because your going to have to fix the sleeve. I dont have the money or time to fix this so my loss is your gain. A little bit of money and care and someone is going to have one badass block. also will trade for a t3 turbo or turbo related things. If not cash is all I want. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge. On with the pics.

The ARP studs are not included along with the oil pan.

The bore is 75.5 mm. Like stated before people on this board are running this exact engine with 78mm bore no problems.

reason why i can tell its stock

full ductile iron sleeves does not have the 2ply effect. stock sleeves are an iron liner with an outside aluminum liner

also there would be a very very small gap between the sleeves

take a better picture. lot of lighting and no flash and hi res to prove it.

That's what it looks like to me too... you bought it like this? And the person told you it was sleeved?

Maybe what they meant by sleeved was stock iron sleeves. When a cylinder is real bad, you can "resleeve" them but not the performance sleeving Honda people generally refer to as sleeving.

My camera sucks thats the best quality it's going to get. Ill try to borrow my friends camera though. Yes the guy told me the block was sleeved he promised me it was. I took it to a machine shop and he told me to it did in fact look like sleeves were pressed in it. I have another bare d16z6 block that I hydrolocked and the sleeves do not look the same. This block from what I know is sleeved.

The block is $200 shipped anywere in the u.s.

I would sale this thing for way more but I have no proof of who did the work. If these were stock sleeves I think when he detonated at 22+psi the sleeve would of been gone and I know for a fact this car was pushing some serious boost. The only thing wrong was the guy was runnning srp pistons and the tune was not dialed down.

i would agree that it looks like the sleeves are not stock. it looks like the stock sleeves were bored away, and a new, thicker liner was pressed in.

bump for you dude.

dude I ran that turbo on my car right before i shipped it to you. The play on that turbo dosent effect it at all. I can promise you all t3 turbos have a tiny bit of play because of the oil ran through them. They have to have a little tolerance. The shaft or blades do NOT hit anything or effect anything on that turbo. I was running a oil resitrictor inline with the feed and never smoked at all. Wtf you expect your going to get for $140 a brand new ******* turbo. Pay $300-$500 if you want somthing thats going to be the quality you want. I can swear this turbo was running perfect on my car for a few months. I have pics and everything pf ,my setup if you want me to share. -Nick

I got my new burner and havent had a misburned chip yet. I told you man what I new if I would of known the valves were messed up I would of told you all I thought was the rings werent sealing right.

Anyways if anyone want the block $150 shipped gets it.

thats cool and all but when i put the turbo on my car before i put a downpipe on it i revved it to 2,000RPM's just 2,000 and put my hand in front of it and my hand literally was covered in oil. i took it to a shop and they said that the seals were totally gone. if the guy before me didnt have a problem with you either, i would have second guessed myself, and maybe you could be telling the truth. after he said that, i can tell your a scammer. give me my money back and i can send you your turbo that doesnt smoke or spit oil

when you say the seals are good and that there is no shaftplay, i suspect there to be. when i got it there was shaftplay, and when i put it on my car it spit oil. i wouldnt have bought it if you described it correctly.

good luck selling anything on this website ever again.
