I'm thinking of getting a 94-95 Teg for a beater. Most of these cars have between 100k - 150k miles on them. How much longer can I drive it?
it depends
if it was well kept it could go for at least 250k no problem but you need to ALWAYS maintain it. first thing i would do is change the timing belt and water pump
so you would know it would be good another 80k miles, check the hoses for cracks and replace what you need.

like already said, it depends on how you treat the vehicle. i've seen em with 300k+ miles on them before still running strong. i even had a friend that tried to kill her civic so her daddy (yeah, shes spoiled) would buy her a new lexus. that car would not die! the engine light was on for like 2 yrs and she never changed the oil. that thing just would not die though. eventually, her dad took it in for service and then traded it in towards the lexus.
just make sure you properly maintain the vehicle and it will be fine!

It depends really. If the maintenance has been kept up they can run for as long as 300K. My DA is about to break 194K, and it still pulls hard. It all depends on maintenance. I have an 84 Accord 5 speed with like 317K on it and its still running fine, and that thing gets beat on haha.
There's a post your milage thread on here someplace, yes 300+ is very possible, but some burn oil after 100k because they never get clean oil/filters. You can get one of those compression test gauges to test a car before you buy. Also see if the valve seals leak by letting the car sit for as long as possible, then have somebody else start the car and look for smoke to come out the exaust. If the guy just had the oil changed and it's already dirty as hell or milky I wouldn't buy it.
All I can say is look at my signature (There's more on it now), and that my sister's civic had 300k on it when she got rid of it. That's a D series, but it's a sign of Honda reliability. I don't know what year it was.

i knew this one chick who had 278k on her teg..still was running like a champ! and this was 5 years ago......she told me her family still has that car too!
it's been scientifically proven, hondas are immortal, sure they might limp like an 93-year-old lady on a cold day... might even look like one too, but they last forever
but seriously, 100k miles means it's still a baby

For those of you who aren't aware, there's atleast one guy on Team Integra who's over 400k, stock motor, never rebuilt and still running strong apparently. I've also met 2 other guy's with over 400k. Take care of your Honda and it'll take care of you.
