Default B18C6 ON CRX EE8??????

Hello guys i am a newbie and i apologise for any mistakes i might do!!

I am about to swap a b18c6 into my crx vtec ee8, and i'd like to know if this is possible and where we should be exceptionally carefull (about the swap) so as to achieve the stock estimated horsepower without technical problems??

Also,I've seen several estimated hp for this engine from 190hp to 200hp
what is true about this engine??

My first concern is if would run the 1/4mile less than 14sec.(approximately 13.5sec is my target). Is this possible??

For the time being i run at about 14.7sec with slight improvements and with a y2 tranny,i will keep the same tranny.

Thanks all of you in advance for your help, as it means a lot to me.

That motor is really strong...but you gotta get a better b series tranny. Your motor will eat through the ys-1 gears like crazy....it should bring your time down, with shorter gears...

First of all you don't need to yell...

the b18c6 is going to be just like the b18c5....or the b18c -R.....go and search.."ITR swap"

The tranny you want is the ys-1 from a 90-93 gsr.....

The swap is just like any B series wap.. Except you'll need good axels....(depending on the car maybe different hubs) The wiring will need to go from Obd2 -->obd1.....You might as well convert to obd-1 to save you time...

There....now go and search....

Depending on your car....driver, tires, gas....blah blah.....you are looking at around 14secs......if you strip the car...maybe 13.7....

Thanks for the reply,

my car has a jdm b16a1 engine,is equipped with powerchips

chip,(it revs to 9000rpm), plugs and wires from b18c5, jr intake ,stock header but

55mm exchaust system with 95mm greek!! handmade muffler,no internal

improvements in the engine. The car runs on 205/45/16 dunlop sport 9000 (which

I know they kill performance) and superleggera rims. This crx is one of the most

famous on the streets in north greece without beeing

one of the fastest as there are three turbo ones!! It is estimated to

produce~180hp.

The ys1 tranny you mentioned ,is a direct fit to my car (ee8)?? Where can i

find a good site that provides these trannies?? Mine is a ys2 one and i've heard

that it has the longest ratios in comparison to all the other trannies (y1,ys1...) so i

need to purchase a ys1,aren't I ??

Also i've heard that the header of the b18c6 doesn't fit to my car and we will

exchange it with the stock b16a1(said my mechanic!!!).

Is there a possibility that the a/c of the b18c6 while bolt on my car??

you only have a 55 MM exhaust?

that seems a little small. i'd step up to something bigger

also, you could get some better/lighter wheels/tires, that would improve your time.

Well let me just say....If you are from greece......kudos....You make beautiful women and Great food.

Ok the ys-1 will bolt up to any B series motor.....and the best part is...you can ditch all the Hydro cable unit garbage....The ys-1 is a great tranny all aroudn...but there are two versions....a gsr and a non gsr....Get the gsr...it eats through gears like you wouldn't beleive.....it's an ALL drag tranny... freeway speeds are pretty fucked....*0mph at 4500-5000 rpms But you drop into 3rd at 60mph and you'll Chirp on the freeway...I did it with a B16a with making like ~150hp...and it's fun to watch people stare....anyway...Get that tranny....it will olt up and sit pretty close to your Wheel well...but other then that...have fun with your ys-1....and treat it good.....

the type r intake should fit what mounts are you using?

Its the GS-R intake that won't fit unless the firewall is adjusted for it.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY MAN.

WELL THAT'S TRUE ABOUT WOMEN AND FOOD!!!! LOL

WHAT IS MORE, HOW CAN I DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THESE TWO TRANNIES(YS-1

GSR AND NO GSR)MYSELF,IS THAT A CERTAIN WAY? BECAUSE I DO NOT

BELIEVE PEOPLE HERE, ESPECIALLY THE ONES WHO SELL PARTS!!!

FURTHERMORE,HOW MANY KILOMETERS AM I SUPPOSED TO RUN WITH 5TH ON

IT AND 3000RPM?? BECAUSE I AM USING THIS CAR ALSO FOR JOURNEYS!!

IF IWOULD BUY THE YS1 CAN EXCHANGE THE 5TH GEAR OF MY Y2 TRANNY WITH

THE ONE OF THE YS1 TO ACHIEVE BETTER DRIVEABILITY (FOR JOURNEYS I
MEAN)!!??

EE8s rule!

But 180bhp? That's 30bhp from a chip and intake. And the exhaust is just like stock, maybe even smaller. I'd say more like 160-165bhp

Good luck on the swap! It will defenitely turn even more heads then

I have a jdm b16a1 which means 160bhp stock.

Also the stock exchaust system is 48mm!! Furthermore,I've said that the

estimated power is ~180bhp as i have tested my car with a b16a crx which was

dynoed 183bhp with 185/60/14 shoes(mine 205/45/16) and I beat him for almost

a car in 2/4mile!!

really the only TRUE way to see what you have is to crack the case open and count the splines on the final gear....

thats the only way i knew mine....if you search.....You can put the LS 5 th gear into the ys-1...and get a better mpg rating in 5th gear.....good luck you got pics to show us of this motor....

Hey guys,is there anything else except for reprogramming, intake, exhaust

system, tyres, rims, tranny that a b18c6 could easily gain horsepower and affect

positively the times in 1/4mile?? I know I ask a lot but I just ask!!!!

dont bench race.

158 at the CRANK.

BASE horsepower. (bhp) = 158

Wheel horsepower (whp) = 158 - loss to the wheels, which is substantial.

just dyno it, then youll know. guessing is called bench racing, seems all honda guys do it, which is why we get **** on so much.

swapping that engine would greatly increase the power of the car, and lower your 1/4.

but no one can tell you how much. its impossible. and guessing would be... you've got it by now, right?

Well, you can even beat a 300hp car if the driver sucks.

But I have seen many places that people say that the JDM B16A1 have 160 and the JDM B16A2 have 170, but why does the same engine produce 10bhp more i Japan than i Europe?
