well honestly i don't know **** about timing, but that sounds like it could be it. and if given some favorable odds, i would bet that is what's causing the symptoms you described.

Huh? Im asking WHY did u advance the timing all the way? Timing (ignition and camshaft) play a critical role in the overall performance of the car man, put it back to specs.
