Default Honda MTF...can be replaced by MT-1 fluid?

I'm due for a tranny fluid change. (In reference to my previous thread relating to this...clutch line was bled and the problem went away.)

I've got a bunch of generic tranny fluid that's branded MT-1 or something like that lying around from a friend's car. Can I get by with this or should I absolutely use only Honda MTF or GM Synchromesh?

You posted absolutely no specs about your mystery fluid. So I'll say no. If you can post the viscosity and it's approvals maybe you can get a response.
