hey guys i have an 89 civic dx i have alot of money into it and i dont wanna sell it but i do want a sunroof is it possible to put a sunroof out of a 89 Si in my car????
if so what would it involve.........i have a chance at buyin a 89 Si for 300 bucks and the body is rotten on it soo....

 

Rotten as in rusty? If there's body panel rust, there is an 80% chance that the sunroof has rust too. Its possible, but not very cost effective considering you haven't priced aftermarket sunroofs/moonroofs [I'm guessing] and some fab work would be involved. I had a sunroof installed in my 96 DX Coupe for $110 [electric,pops up and slides over the roof]. I would call around first, then decide which is better, a nice factory appearing sunroof with no labor on your part, or a $300 crx shell taking space all because you wanted only the sunroof. Don't forget you have to wire it for your DX! - Darrell

 

i would jsut rather have the Si....i dunno why different skirts and bumpers they just look better and perform better

 

i dont want to dump thousands of dollars into a car either i just want to go out buy an Si......put some rims and tires on it, paint it the colour i want drop it an inch or so and build a loud system....
i dont want a car thats gonna do 10 seconds i could care less.....id be ncie but i owe 30, 000 to snap on so u can imagine

 

Search for the differences between the Si and DX.. There is very few, just doesn't seem worth it in the long run, all you just mentioned you could do to your DX, maybe your just unhappy with your car atm. I just don't seem the positives being that great. - Darrell
