Default Fastbrakes any good?

Those with FastBrakes, what are you thoughts on this system. They are pretty inexpensive, but then again you get what you pay for. Any complaints? How's the fitment? Do the brakes make that annoying squeeling sound when you brake? TIA

if you're speaking of the Wilwood kit Brian(Fastbrakes) offers, I have a similar kit on my car. Brian's was out at the time. No squealing-that depends on your pads/shims/backing. Works great coupled with his "big rear brakes" kit. You didn't specify what you were speaking of. Hope this helps...

I am going to hopefully go take a look at the kit soon since I am in Arizona. I will let everyone know more about the kit once I see it.

If you get the kit, you'll probably wanna stick with the 11" rotor / 4-piston Wilwood caliper kit. I think you can save a couple of pounds per corner of unsprung weight using this setup. This setup was tested to fit under the stock 15" '95 GS-R rims.

There's also a 12" Wilwood kit, but it doesn't fit under the stock 15" rims.

I'd e-mail Brian < fastbrake@hotmail.com > for specifics, like weight reduction, and whether it uses a 2-piece or 1-piece rotor, pricing, and the info on what modifications (if any) need to be made for it to fit properly. maybe you could have him e-mail you a copy of the installation instructions for the kit you want.

I have a GSR but went with the 11" 2 piece front rotor with ITR calipers, then also added the 11.4" rear rotor upgrade.
fit was great, install was quick, performance for price is phenominal

I cant wait to get the 4 piston Wilwoods for my car now! just have to save up...

junglistgsr - Nice rear rotor you got there buddy! drop me an emial sometime

Fastbrakes has great stuff and at great prices!
NO SPOON calipers like most all would like to have, but for function and cost you do get a nice set up that performs better than stock! (at least on my Si it did)

I should have gone with the 4pot Wilwood setup in the front (instead of the Accord V6 calipers) b/c I had quite a bit of clearance issues with the caliper bracket and brake pad retaining clips.

For the first week, the scraping was unbearable and I ended up taking it apart 3 times to take more of the bracket material and retainer material off each time. I don't think it's so bad now, but I should have spent the extra $400 to make life that much easier for me.

I think I spent a total of 8 hours just on filing & dremeling the caliper bracket, and then checking the clearances with some anti-seize compound smudged on the rotor.

whoa this is pretty cool! Those willwood calipers look pretty sweet. The whole 4-piston kit is only 600 bucks? Does that mean i could have stopping power equivalent to the ITR withOUT getting the 5-lug conversion?

I've had both the 11" upgrade and the Wilwood 11" upgrade.

Both were excellent quality and it took no time to install them.

Brian is a first rate guy and will make sure you are satisfied.

Here is my current setup and I'm very happy!!!!

Would the 11.75" kit be better than the 11" kit? I'd get either of the two with the 4 piston wilwoods... lemme know

Big surprise here, but they take Wilwood Dynalite sized pads. *boggle*

Thanks Skye! I just know there are some out there that use ITR pads. Wondered if this was one of them.

my rear rotor:
Am I correcting in saying that this rear rotor will fit behind the stock rims, and uses the stock rear calipr? Also, do you sacrifice anything when doing this? Does the e-brake still work?
