your civic intake should work but it might be better just to get a new short ram

the only real difference is where you get your power, supposedly with a short ram you get better acceleration and with a CAI you get a higher top end power

i have a cheapy from ebay $50 shipped and it works fine, no need to spend the extra cash on AEM just put a good filter on

i had an accord with a CAI and it made a great hp increase and it definetly puts more torque than just a short ram

now on my civic i have just a ebay shorty but i bought a new k&n air filter, its a little bit larger than just the standard filter. it helps alot.

Ive had several intakes, and from what ive seen, AEM short rams are the best. You dont risk hydro lock, they had good power throughout the rpm range, and they make that signature "hiss", even at full throttle you can hear it. Its been mistaken for turbo lol. You can pick one up on kingmotorsports.com for around 100 bucks.

AEM

Yeah, for sure. I checked AEM's site once before and they make intake specifically designed for your motor in the chassis you have. I'd say do it right the first time

yeah bro AEM definitely makes intakes specifically designed for swaps. i also have a b18c and i am running the AEM hybrid cold air (part# 21-5003C). i picked mine up from http://www.prostreetonline.com for $197 shipped which i think is a fair price. the kit fits perfectly and comes with everything you need for AEM

I run a an AEM for an EG on my B18C1 swapped EG. I have the skunk2 intake manifold, so the TB sits where it "should" be. I am going back to the stock box for now and would sell the intake if you want. Its red in color and the paint wasn't the worlds greatest shape so I heat wrapped it. I can get pics if you need. $80 shipped. BRAND NEW filter. Seriously like less then 3,000 miles on it. Its in good shape. Let me know if you want it.

my friend has an ls/vtec in a crx....

he ran 13.4 w/ CAI

and 13.2 w/ short ram...

dunno why, maybe he drove differently or sumtin, but had a better time with short ram,

short ram is good cuz the engine doesnt have to work as hard to get its air ya kno

If your gonna go with a short ram,i'd suggest the J's Racing intake or a replica. They supposedly have awesome throttle response and good low-end tq.good luck.

I had the j's racing on mine and it made a big difference from the cai I had. And the CAI I had was the AEM V2. So I say get the short ram and if you do go with aem or j'sracing.

I'm sure any aftermarket short ram would show gains in your car but wouldn't a long pipe be better because of the cooler air, though i know short rams are based off air velocity.

Good intake, everyone says they feel gains over a normal short ram, kinda looks like a whale *****.
