H23 to H23a VTEC
I'm going to be swapping a JDM H23a VTEC engine into my car soon with most likely a m2b4 tranny, unless someone knows where i can find a Euro-R or Type-R tranny
. I have a 93 SI 4WS with a H23. My question is, will my shift linkage work as is or will i need to get new shift linkage? I think everything else will bolt up nicely, but please correct me if i'm wrong. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've heard that i would need new shift linkage, which is why i asked. Anyone else's opinon? Oh, and the engine i'm getting comes with all of this:
- Complete Block
- Intake Manifold
- Complete Head
- Engine Wiring Harness
- Sensors
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Throttle Body
- Alternator
- Starter
- Ignition Wires
- A/C Compressor
- Power Steering Pump
- Intermediate Shaft
- Factory Mounts
Is that everything i need for the swap? And of course i know i still need the tranny

shift linkage is specific to the chassis...it's an h block and an h tranny I don't see what you think the problem is...people are running this motor already and people have been using M2B4 trannies for a looooong time.
all h trannies have the same linkage and it should be a direct swap just wire up vtec , also u need a vtec ecu since its missing from your list

oops, i left that out. It comes with an OBD2 ECU. I want an OBD1 though, are they easy to come by?

Satan, this one's for you. A little off topic, but oh well. I'm curious, where'd you get your Euro-R tranny? I can't find one any where
Also, the cf lip, how much did you pay for it? Cheapest i've seen is $325 and that seems a lil excessive for a spoon rip off. Thanks ahead of time!

I've heard that cf lip's crack, chip and get damaged easily. Have you had any problems like that with yours? If not, then make another one and sell it to me

fair enough. Yeah i was thinking the same thing but people insist that cf lips are more fragile. Well, if you ever decide to make any again, let me know
I won't be getting one for awhile most likely anyway. Oh, and what about that Euro-R tranny. Is there anything you could tell me that could help me find one? Could I call the same place you did and get one shipped here? And uh, how much did you pay for it, it might be out of my price range anyway.

for a little while i was working on figuring out what was nessesary to convert a m2f4 to the gearing of the euro R tranny. i was working with pentaq looking at european car web sites. i have a list of parts you need. then all you would need to do is buy and aftermarket LSD and you would have a tranny with euro r gearing and an lsd.
i kinda lost my job and got no money sooo i dunno,

Well im gonna be getting a new tranny with my engine swap anyway. Probably a m2b4 so i wont have to buy an aftermarket lsd. Would the conversion work for a m2b4 tranny or does it have to be m2f4?

i have done this swap im my 92 sr... and i have encountered a few problems... first is that the idle air control (iac) is different form preludes, so what i did was make a custom bracket out of aluminum... the second problem that i had was that the vaccum lines to the intake manifold were different, and there were less of them on the h23 vtec... i currently have a fluctuating idle when the engine is up to operating temp... which i think is caused by a vaccum leak i might have in my iac mounting bracket that i made... what would be nice if anyone is able to find is a vaccum diagram on the h23 vtec... i also am using a 93-95 prelude obd 1 ecu... if anyone has any tips or help that would be great...
thanks
thanks
