Default ek b18 key stuck??

Hey I test drove a ek with a b18 swap the other day that I might buy. But when the ignition switch is in the 0 position it is very hard to turn the key. It has to be placed just right (kind of like a old nintendo cartridge lol). But it can be very frustrating. To replace the ignition switch can i just buy a 65 dollar replacement for a 96 civic or would i need one from an integra ls (which the b18 came from) or do i need the whole ignition assembly? Any help is appreciated, I really like the car except for this. thx

It may be the key cylinder or key is worn. Is there another key you can try? If it's the lock cylinder, it can be rebuilt pretty cheaply.

Whats the difference between the lock cylinder and the ignition switch? Is the lock cylinder the physical key hole?

you having a b18 has nothing to do with the ignition switch. I have a 98 civic and their was a recall on the ignition switch. i'm not sure what other year civics had the recall as well but you can look into that.

re:you having a b18 has nothing to do with the ignition switch. I didnt think so but it was weird because the key said acura on it so i wasnt sure. But is the lock cylinder my problem with the key not wanting to turn or is it the switch?
