Default !!!!!!!!!Transmission Fluid!!!!!!!!!!!?

im switchin the axles on my a 90 civic 4dr lx (Auto) we just took the axle from the pass side and a **** load of transmission, or some fluid came poorin out....is that normal, if its transmission fluid just refill it??? need help asap

You should have drained the trans first

LOL, you're supposed to drain the tranny before you pull out the axles

Hmmm. On a manual tranny car that is on a flat surface, you can pull the axles without oil splilling any oil. The oil isn't supposed to sit on the axles or they would constantly leak.

I would figure the same for an auto tranny.

But most likely the guy had the front of the car jacked up. I have changed axles before without any spills. Just change one axle at a time while ONLY jacking up one side at a time.
