Replacing Clutch--do I need to do the bearing?
22K miles on my ITR. I'm doing a new oem clutch and PP. Do I also need to replace the bearing that is accessable when I replace those two (what's the name of it again)? I know on my 100K mile Civic I did, but with only 20K miles and a roughly $50 part, do I need to do this?
Thanks.
Thanks.

A given.
I have put 3 in my car (82,000 miles) so far. They are a wear item and should be treated as such. Make sure you clean and 'correctly' lube the transmission input shaft.
The difference in the clutch pedal feel is amazing.

agree for the most part. wear item definitely. but i didnt replace mine that had about 20K on it because I didnt have one available. it still spins very smooth by hand. installed it with a used clutch, feels buttery
definitely l00b the shaft for maximum smoothness. new clutch should come with a TO bearing anyway.

I always do it - even if it's not necessary...
Because it's such a pain in the *** to go back in there to do the throwout bearing or pilot bearing... I just do them anyway...

Should I do both the throwout bearing and pilot bearing at this juncture?
BTW--don't question the oem clutch--class rules say I need ot do this.

When I did my clutch I replaced both the realease and pilot bearings. They may have not needed it at the time, but peace of mind and preventive maintainence are worth more than the price of those small parts IMO...
