I just bought my GF a 93 ex civic.The car runs and drives fine but I keep smelling coolant somwhere.I have already checked the radiator hoses,fans,changed the radiator and changed the head gasket.I was woundering if anyone else had ever had this problem and how to solve it.Could it be a thermostat problem?Car does not over haet or anything but the smell is getting on my nerves and I dont want somthing to happen later that I could of fixed now.

 

have you checked the rear heater hoses that attach at the firewall/heater core,
mine leaked cause they were not tight and it leaks on to the exhaust so i would smell it. Hope this helps

 

Maybe the previous owner spilled a bottle of coolant in the trunk....

 

Make sure the car is on and fully warm when checking your hoses. I had a pin hole in my heater hose (the one going to the firewall) it would only show when the car was on, water pump pumpin.
