Default do i drille to install a strut bar?



i wanted to install a stock strut bar but is drilling the best way to get the hole for it?

if you look under the hood, you probably have two black grommets or plugs on each side already. The holes are usually already drilled and they just put the plug in them. You'll have to use a nut & bolt since you don't have studs there but that shouldn't be an issue.

i looked, there are no black gromets except teh same place as the one shown in the picture.

then drill, you may have indentions or something to help you figure out where. Otherwise, just line it up and go to town. Just make sure when you attach it, you put the bolt up through the fender from the bottom.

i have always been curious bout this, i see doodes with EK's with stock CTR strut bars and i donno how the bolt them in..

I just went to PasswordJDM this weekend and picked up an "EK CTR front strut tower bar." It was for my 97 hatchback. So today, I went to try and see the bolting areas and NO HOLES. I got scared because I didnt know what to do with it, good thing to know it is possible to drill the hole yourself. Whew!!!

On non Si 96-00 Civics they don't have the holes predrilled and don't have the bolt welded on the mounting points. All you have to do is drill holes where the markings are on each shock tower and get some nuts and bolts from the hardware store.
